If there was a legal service that offered services for only $26/month would you try it?

- NO!
- $26 a month for how many months....and do I need repeat legal services are the things I would take into consideration.
- No. Real lawyers bill by the hour. Sounds like a scam to me.
- I did that once. And it all depends on what you're looking to acheive by getting legal help. If its just for defense just in case, they could be heplful. I was trying to get a lawyer in a different state to deal with something there for me and there were a bunch of extra fees for that plus no good lawyers on their "list." Needless to say I canceled it. It might work for you though. Good luck!
- Every one would, even they don't have problem they will create problem for that low price. Ha Ha nice question.
- just remember the old saying, you get what you pay for! (if it is a serious situation I'd say you may be better off caughing up more cash)
- California has such a service. Its no good, the courts don't really care for them as they don't really represent you in court unless you have a real=real exciting case. They mainly write letters on your behalf. This kind of service isn't worth it.
- Probably not, but I think it would depend on what I wanted legal services for. Sometimes you don't need to have a good lawyer, you just need to have one on paper.
- Yes. My lawyer charges me $500 per hour!
- This type of legal insurance is popular in some European countries and it works there because attorneys cannot charge whatever they want like they can in the U.S. Their fees are regulated by the government to protect the consumer. This type of insurance has never really caught on in the U.S. because very few lawyers want to participate in it. Why provide a service for $ 25 if you can charge $ 250. I know someone who had this type of insurance for a year and he did get legal service, but it's only good if you have very general questions and don't take up a lot of the attorney's time. If you need more complex paperwork done or if you need the lawyer to represent you in court, expect to be last priority or end up paying more for the service anyway. Hey ho.. that's capitalism :-))
