  1. Check with a university college of law for student assistance.
  2. There's a free family law information centre in downtown Oshawa. It's in the Michael Starr building which is right on King and Centre, the tall one with the Ontario Government sign on it. I copied more information about them from their website: Family Law Information Centre (F.L.I.C.) Michael Starr Building 33 King St. West Oshawa, ON Bus Routes The following bus routes stop directly in-front of the Michael Starr Building; 2 King, 11 Grandview and the 5 Central Park. The 1 Simcoe and 7 Ritson stops are within walking distance of the FLIC office Office Hours Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. FLIC provides clients with the opportunity to obtain free legal advice regarding family law. They offer assistance with court forms and the court process, information about mediation and community resources, videos, pamphlets and information packages. Note: FLIC is a walk-in clinic, they will not provide information or advice over the phone P.S. I hope everything works out for him.
