Expose crooked or negigent lawyers in the Uk. ??
I have fell victim to bad negligent practice, which also included crooked methods to maximise profit. My whole experiece can only be summed up as a total rip off by the outfit in this case who did nothing to help me at all. The lawyer concerned made false and misleading claims of experience purely to get my business. How can this be exposed to the public as a warning of a negligent solicitor to aviod. The law society is a total waist of time, it is only there as front to protect lawyers and make complications if a victim tries to complain. The only way to complain about bad, negligent, or crooked lawyer, is to involve yet more lawyers and spend several thousand pounds trying to expose these people. The system is designed this way by lawyers to protect lawyers. Therefore the law society ( more lawyer's) first job is to protect its member's. Therefore there need's to be a public notice board exposing and warn of bad prectice & these legal rip off merchants.

- I sympathise, having had very similar treatment - a solicitor who lost an open and shut case. Prior to that I'd asked a (dfferent) solicitor for an opinion on a contract and I refused to pay, although I'm pleased to say that in this case his boss agreed with me. Lawyers have a reputation for closing ranks and making it very difficult to complain, let alone get things done to time and with some compensation. Why not start a name-and-shame website? There are quite a few in existence, some collecting war stories about individual firms like airlines, and others that just focus on a particular business sector. It would have to have a moderator so as to exclude prolonged rants, and you might have to have some legal advice available in background in case of libel. (Where to find that? could be a disillusioned retired solicitor - of any age, maybe a woman who's taken a career break and got disgusted; you might find an experienced accountant who's picked up a lot of experience with the law along the way). The you need to publicise it. Once you've got a few stories up (and you could ask Answers people to let you know their stories if you're prepared to accept incoming mail) one force on your side is that the media are hungry for customer-sided stories. If you're based in the UK, which I guess you are, you can try programmes like Watchdog, You and Yours, etc. And if you can get your website designed for free by someone who's also been ripped off, the designer may be able to tell you how to get high up in the search engines. I hope this helps. If you want to get in touch with me a little later, when you've done some scoping, I might be able to offer a spot of advice although I warn you I'm pretty busy and not legally qualified so I can't take much of the load. This needs doing. But have a search of the Net first to see whether anyone else is already doing it.
