Can you substitute lawyers before a warrant is issued?

If someone is awaiting a warrant to be issued for their arrest, can he/she substitute lawyers if he/she is not completely confident with their first choice of counsel? In other words, getting lawyers with more experience?

  1. You can change lawyers anytime. It won't change the warrant being issued.
  2. Yep at any time
  3. You may change Attorneys any time. One thing to keep in mind, just because you didnt get that "warm/fuzzy feeling" Re: your Lawyer, doesnt necessarily translate to his/her lack of skill and knowledge. Attorneys who "cut to the chase", seem dismissive of their Client's long-winded and rambling details Re: the Arrest/Crime, dont offer Milk&Cookies and a big HUG when you had your first Meeting with him/her, DOESNT MEAN this Attorney is not on YOUR SIDE. Attorneys still want to have a good track record. Some are better at sizing up the situation at hand, and can/will automatically do what is the most beneficial for their Client. You can search out and schedule Consultations with local Defense Attornies, so you feel you have left no stone unturned, but it MAY BE your designated (Public Defender ??) WILL do the right thing. I dont blame you for wanting the peace of mind Re: who will be representing you, after all, your freedom is at stake. Lone Ranger's right, the Warrant will still be waiting for you, but feeling you are represented by an Attorney who will FIGHT for you may be what you are looking for. Good Luck.
