Why are lawyers always of the impression they are the busiest people in the world?

I am a lawyer, so I know a lot of lawyers and I think most of them, carry on a lot about their own importance and the importance of their job and how much work they have to do. I think lawyers make themselves busy rather than the occupation doing it. What do you think?

  1. I definitely think that a lot goes into prepping for a case etc... but isn't that what paralegals and admin assisstants are for? So I'm kind of with you... yes their job is busy, as most jobs are, but they're definitely not the busiest people in the world. The busiest people in the world are ER Doctors! :)
  2. Well, seeing as you are 29 and have three degrees, I can’t imagine you have been in the practise long, so my guess is you don’t have as many clients as other busy lawyers? Between all the paper work, reading new and up to date information, researching case law, appearing in court, meeting with clients and answering phone calls and returning messages, in can get pretty hectic.
