Is pay per month legal services legit or scam?

I was approached by a Sales Rep. who swore on the Bible this legal service is just great. You pay X amount of $ per month and the company assigns a legal representative (attorney) to work on your case or cases.

1. if it is called 'pre paid legal' then yes it is
2. Any website that wants $$$ or personal info is one to stay away from :}
3. it is called a retainer fee. you pay a monthly fee for regular legal services like notarization, legal advices, legal research but does not include court appearances. but before you sign up with them, make sure they are a registered law firm. to be sure, ask for a copy of their business permit. the permit will show what type of business activity they are engaged in. ask them also what type of services are included in this monthly fee.
