Is a prepaid legal services good for someone just charged with a felony?

My friend just got charged as a felon for graffiti....I was looking for lawyers for him, but he cannot afford any private attorneys....and I don't think a public defender will be any good. I heard about a prepaid legal services where he would pay $40 a month but I am not sure if this is for him......he's only 18 and I don't wanna see him go to jail or get a felony conviction on his record....

2. I'll tell ya right now, he would still have to pay something for the attorney. This would fall under the 25% discount area. That means he would get that 25% off of the attorney's original fees.
