Can a judge decide on a case without the lawyers to plead a case?
A case has been going on for a year. Papers have not been presented properly and so on. Can a judge just decide before a case is presented on by the lawyers. Can he just judge the case on what's written from both parties?

- Without specifics, I'll answer that it's a qualified yes. While the court can rule on any case based on documents entered into evidence, doing so without the participation of all parties is almost a guaranteed appeal. The exception would be if one party consistently fails to follow procedure and the other does.

- There's not enough information here to give a proper answer. However, if the pleadings have not been properly filed, after a certain amount of time, the judge can dismiss the case.
