What is your opinion of personal injury lawyers?

1. They do their job, which is to serve their clients. The media portrays them negatively when instead they should focus on the legislation that makes such rediculous judicial verdicts possible.
2. They are greedy thugs that prey on the system these day's. Just watch their commercials on TV fishing for law suits. Trying to convince everyone to make a fast buck out of tax dollars and insurance companies. the system is so polluted with extortion cases it's an epidemic. Sorry, I think most of them are high on greed.
3. I agree. Although there are a few out there who probably do wish to help, most dont care about morality, and just want to earn easy money in a settlement.
4. From personal experience, personal injury lawyers claim they are out to collect the largest settlement they can and take 30 to 40% of the prize. However in our family case, the insurance policy had a maximum payout and the personal injury lawyer took $30,000 for doing basically nothing.. So I am not real keen on them. Oh and this guy was supposed to the best in the business here in Ohio. He took the money and ran.
5. After meeting several of them in person the first thing I wanted to do was bathe. Even out in social settings they still (sic) were in 'lawyer mode' and ready at the drop of a hat to argue anything with anybody. I'm not sure how my perceptions have been altered by the media but I didn't know they were p.i. lawyers until they told me they were. In retrospect I can say that the stereotypes were not too far off, but that's just a personal observation.
6. The bottom of the barrel. I don't like lawyers anyway, but the ambulance chasers are the worst. They will take a high percentage of your settlement.
7. i require a hundred-thousand dollar retainer and charge $200 per hour prep and $425 per hour for trial....contingency fees are for chumps and class action suits. if the media is willing to spread my bulls-hit i will shovel it right into their laps!!!!!!!
