What do you guys think of the black lawyers for justice?

I think they are pretty damn good. The legal system does not always treat blacks fairly and it's nice to have a lawfirm dedicated to helping us prove our innocence. I'm thinking of studing law this fall when i go to Bowie State and hopefully becoming a lawyer. Nothing would make me happier than to defend my own people! Black lawyers rule!

Public Comments

  1. Your own people? Are you not American? Should we remove your name off the list of people who qualify for protection under our constitution? And you wonder why there is racism today. You created it.
  2. defend your OWN people. wow i was about to say that black/white it dosent matter as long as you are good at what you do and like what you do. however if you are only concerned about blacks and not whites .....thats not right. you should be fighting for the rights of all people. are you related to al sharpton???
  3. Huh? If you get arrested, you are more than likely guilty of something illegal, or are in the company of bad people. Either way its going to end up bad for you. You don't need lawyers, you need common sense.
  4. AS LONG AS THE PERSON, LAWYER DOES WHAT IS RIGHT IT SHOULDN'T MATTER WHAT RACE OR NATIONALITY HE/SHE IS
  5. Well, I certainly agree that everyone should be treated fairly. But if there was an organization called "white lawyers for justice" there would be people protesting and claiming it was racist. And I assume you are an American, so aren't all Americans "your own people"? Or is someone one of "your own people" only when they have the same skin color that you do? I don't ask to be offensive - I really want to understand your mindset. I am impressed you are going to law school and wish you the very best. But please consider why you would want to take a client or not based their race. Martin Luther King had it right, in my opinion, when he said we should judge people by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin.
  6. just another form of blacks being racists. Anything that sets people apart by color makes racism grow.
  7. I support any person who wants to succeed. It's easy to listen to the naysayers and make excuses for failing. Ironically, for Black Americans nowadays, the naysayers are mostly black people who feel ashamed of their own lack of success. And the state of affairs in a justice system which convicts people on the flimsiest evidence, especially those least able to afford a decent defense, is not even worth discussing. At least some Black lawyers are trying to address the imbalance. And while they might be overly inclined towards believing in their clients innocence, it is, after all, the prosecutions job to PROVE guilt. Any lawyer who defends the tenant of "innocent until proven guilty" is fine by me.
  8. I feel the same way as if I heard of "white lawyers for justice". It's racist, period. The justice system doesn't always treat ANYONE fairly. There are lots of white people that get shafted by the system too. We are NEVER going to have a truly fair, equal, color-blind society as long as one sector of it keeps identifying themselves first by their skin color, and you can't blame whitey for this anymore. You guys are doing it to yourselves at this point.
  9. I wouldnt care if the person was purple, if they did a good job.
