What are the official organizations doctors, lawyers, and accountants have to join?

I know that Lawyers have to join something called the Bar, but I don't know the complete name of that or the names of the other 2 groups.

Public Comments

  1. Lawyer's Guild ACLU
  2. Attorneys don't join the Bar, they Pass the Bar. Then most of them join The bar association in their county to network. Accountants would be the AICPA, Doctors have a whole bunch and they are also to network
  3. Lawyers are required to belong to a state bar organization in order to practice law. Within the bar association there are specialized areas and lawyers that qualify for this designation must belong to the specialty sub-organization within the bar. Lawyers must also perform a certain number of hours of education to keep current in the law and in their specialty in order to retain their law licenses. Doctors are required to belong to a state medical board in order to practice medicine. Lie lawyers, doctors must also perform periodic specialized education in order to keep their medical licenses current. Accountants must become certified public accountants to practice accounting. Ditto for continuing education of accountants.
  4. Lawyers must pass the bar. Doctors are required to belong to a state medical board. Accounts can become a CPA but it is not required to do the job unless you perform audits.
