What would be best concerning a legal matter when your present legal rep. is not giving the best advice.?

I am involved with a legal matter that is complicatated and chose not to give many details. I would like advice in how to proceed with a lawyer who has proven less than worthy of handling my legal matter. He has made a decision that is not in my best interest. The decision is not final until I sign the papers. I have no income and feel as though I should seek other legal advice before signing. I am open to well thought out advice.

  1. It all depends on the situation, and I can respect your decision not to reveal it to the Internet. Nobody will be able to tell you anything with what you are saying. Kind of a catch 22 isn't it. I am tied in with the courts where I live, and I wouldn't give you any advise because that is your choice to make, but I might be able to give you some comparisons, if you will tell me what is going on. So you can Email me if you want to, my Email is on my page.
  2. Without knowing what's going on your not really expecting an answer are you? Just because you don't think it's for your interest doesn't mean it isn't. However that doesn't mean the lawyer can force you to accept that advice. You can always fire your lawyer and pay a new one to take over. If this is in regards to a court appointed lawyer for criminal charges then you'd have to petition the court for a new lawyer. They would then go through and see if there was grounds. Your lawyer can NOT force you to make a decison, but can recommend what he believes is in your interest. Only you get to make the final decison, and he has to go along with that unless there is some legal/ethical problem with doing so.
